Our story
Your golf history should be a file you own.
I'm Johnny Mobley. I started building systems for other people in 2000, when I was 16, and I've been doing it ever since. Along the way I automated most of my own work, and the tools I built for myself became these companies. Each one runs on rules I wrote down, not on paid AI calls, which is why it can cost so little.
Most golf apps keep your rounds on their servers, and when you stop paying or switch apps, your history stays behind. I built GolfLink so the record is yours: you log rounds on the page, it works out your stats, and you can export the whole ledger as one file and load it on another device.
Nothing is sent to us. The rounds live in your browser until you export them. That also means it is a ledger, not a course app: no GPS, no handicap, no live scoring with friends.
What works today
- Logs a round (course, date, score, putts, fairways and greens hit) and keeps it in your browser
- Works out your average score, best round, average putts, fairway and green percentages, and your last five rounds against your lifetime
- Optional hole-by-hole scores show your toughest and best holes
- Exports the whole ledger as one JSON file and imports it on another device
What it doesn't do yet
TheGrint still does things GolfLink doesn't:
- GPS distances on the course.
- An official handicap.
- Live leaderboards and games with friends.
- Syncing between devices without moving a file yourself.
- A watch or phone app.
